Funds from this event will be used for projects in Argentina and Peru where they have been studying during their year abroad.
The Rotaractors have asked for Interactor help by dressing in native clothing from other countries, or the USA, and to be "in character" walking through the crowd so attendees can take photos with them. Interactors attend for free.
Celebrate World Interact Week by sorting books for the "Rotary Books for the World" International Project. Books will be shipped to teachers and students in Africa and India that do not have books!
If you plan to attend, you must call or email Terry Ziegler at 713-825-1176 or bigzlumber@aol.com.
Clothing: Wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals). Some of the boxes might be dusty, so wear an old t-shirt and jeans or long pants.
Since 1985, Rotary's goal has been to eradicate polio and make it only the 2nd disease ever wiped off the face of the earth. When Interact started, polio was crippling children in 125 countries. Today, polio is endemic in only 4 countries...Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, and Nigeria. Your Interact club can be part of history by helping eradicate polio!
Your Interact district officers have selected the Purple Pinkie Project as the project to create community awareness, and help raise funds for Rotary's PolioPlus Program.
That's right Interactors! District 5890 Interact is planning it's first International trip to Chinandega, Nicaragua this Spring Break from March 13th to the 20th where 10 Interactors will have the opportunity to represent District 5890 through International Service and Leadership opportunities.
